East Miramar, near the original city along Miramar Parkway, dates to the fifties and sixties. Those are small block houses with narrow openings, tight headroom and, in a lot of cases, an original carport that was enclosed later with a door fitted into a header that was never designed for one. Those conversions need looking at properly, because the spring anchor and the track have to attach to something structural. West Miramar is the opposite: Silver Lakes, Monarch Lakes, Riviera Isles, Sunset Lakes and Vizcaya all filled in through the nineties and two thousands with wide two and three car openings, insulated steel doors and builder openers, and they are now arriving at the end of their first hardware cycle together. Both halves sit in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, so a replacement door needs an approved wind rating and an inspection either way.
